Should have bought it straight away
I currently have a CZ457 synthetic and recently purchased a Yukon Photon RT for rabbits at night. From the start I had issues with mounting the Photon - getting the correct eye relief and mounting screws stopping the bolt from sliding even with the reduced bolt throw of the 457.

I have tried a number of things to sort this, Hawke 2" extensions created the problem of the bolt lever fouling on the mounting screws and even with MOA inserts shimming the rings, I was still running out of adjustments trying to zero.

I am new to rifles so I accept a large part of the issues I ran into will be my own fault but I would have benefitted from details reviews, hence the reason I am writing this.

I spoke with the guys at OW a while back and they suggested a Britania 20MOA picatinny rail conversion which would also require picatinny mounts. Due to the costs involved, I went for the Hawke extensions first and now wish I had of taken their advice from the start. Not only due to the waste of money of buying the Hawke ones but the time spent travelling for an evenings zeroing and shooting wasted due to the issues above. I even filed the mounting bolt heads down so they wouldnt catch on the bolt lever but this didnt help.

Eventually I purchased the Britania rail and the Yukon SW-30 mount. Initially I thought I made a mistake as some show the mount with a picatinny top to the ring and the bolts look as if they would be chamber side. It turned out the bolts are to the left when the mount is extending to the rear and also included was an additional top section of the ring with the picatinny rail too.

It took around 5-10 minutes to fit it all (as a novice) in a field and within 15 minutes I had it zeroed. Also worth mentioning was it only required 9 clicks X and 9 clicks Y. This leaves plenty of adjustment left given how close it was when mounted.

Morale of the story was, buy the right kit first time. The time and money itll save you in the long run will be worth it.
Also, OW staff know what they are talking about! I called and without checking, they were able to tell me the parts I needed off the top of their head.
