DESCRIPTION

Element Optics Helix 6-24x50 SFP APR-1C MRAD

This Element Optics Helix 6-24x50 SFP rifle scope is developed by a team of professional shooters with decades of experience. The scopes from Element Optics offer a very high quality for a very competitive price.

The clear glass of the fully multicoated lenses provides a bright image and the reticle is positioned in the second focal plane, which means it doesn’t enhance when zooming in, preventing the reticle from blocking the view on your target. With a magnification range from 6x to 24x, the Element Optics Helix 6-24x50 SFP rifle scope is very suitable for use in middle and long distances. The reticle is calibrated to 24x magnification which -with a tiny bit of maths- makes it also ideal with 12x and 6x magnification. Zooming is made easy by the throw lever that can easily be screwed out and replaced with the included hex screw if preferred. Waterproof, shockproof and filled with nitrogen to prevent internal fogging up.

Great scope - and even better service
I bought this for my second air rifle based on reviews and Element’s own YouTube videos. Initially I found the reticle a little too fine for me and was planning to return it; Mohit was super helpful and suggested some alternatives but as none had all the features that I wanted I decided to keep it and was very happy with its performance- as others have said the quality is very good for the price.
I then found that the parallax turret didn’t seem to be working so I returned it to OPW; on examining it, Mohit told me that they couldn’t find anything wrong with it and that it appeared that I had mounted the scope ring too close to the turret so that it interfered with its operation. Nevertheless he is sending me a new one as a replacement. Brilliant service!

Forget Hawke and MTC - Get this!
After coming back to air gunning after taking a break I needed to buy everything new.
I initially opted for an MTC Viper Pro (not from Optics Warehouse), however, the turrets developed a fault after trying to zero my scope in...
I took it back to the local retailer for a refund...
I then purchased an Hawke Airmax 30 SF Compact 3-12x40 IR SF online (not from Optics Warehouse) and whilst trying to unscrew the front lens cap, the front of the objective lens came off with it ????
I returned it again for a refund - for the price of the Hawke - that shouldn't have happened...
I then purchased the Element Optics Helix from Optics Warehouse and I'm pleased I did - the glass is super clear - the chromatic aberration is very minimal...
One thing to note - read the instructions or look on youtube at the setup...
The reason being, I've just bought an HW100 BP and when zeroing this scope I ran out of clicks - luckily I'd watched the youtube video Element Optics uploaded a while back showing you how to remove the zero stop incase you run out of clicks on your turrets...
I adjusted the zero stop and its all up and running...
Would highly recommend!

Superb Scope
I bought my Helix from OPW a couple of weeks ago, fortunately was Black Friday week & saved a bit there, actually to see what all the fuss was about, was a purchase to on my Daystate which a Hawke Sidewinder on, the plan was to fit that on my BSA Ultra Se, so the Helix, what can i say, to start with it's very well presented, the scope itself looks & feels quality with positive clicks from the turrets, the picture quality from the glass is superb, so is it better than my Sidewinder, yes & no, the Hawke wins the "extras" metal lens caps & sidewheel, not to mention illumination, which the Helix surprisingly doesn't have, i have tried to remember the last time i used reticle illumination on any of my scopes & surprisingly never have done!! so the Helix does without the aforementioned "extra's" i can only presume the "extra's" were pared down by Element in order to spend more on what is important, the quality of materials used & especially the glass, so the Helix is a definite 10/10 from me, the Sidewinder is a close 2nd,

PS: many thanks to OPW for the quick delivery

Worth every penny
Put this on top of my .22LR.

Glass is clear and crisp.

Turrets are superb and with a zero stop.

I would have liked the centre dot to be illuminated as I use this on vermin in all lighting conditions so it only gets 4 stars for features but at this price point, and with the excellent turrets, it's forgiven.

A great scope for the money and should worry the well-established competition at this price point.

I may even get the 34mm tubed version for my 6.5 Creedmoor target rifle.

A great scope at an affordable price
I needed a new scope for my BSA R-10 after deciding to pension off my trusty old Hawke Sidewinder. The Sidewinder has served me well for around 5 years now, but I was always frustrated with the mixed-calibration between the turrets (MOA) and the Reticle (MRAD).
Having been a subscriber to Matt Dubber and Ted Biers YouTube channels, I was keen to assess the new range of scopes they had developed in conjunction with FX.

For me, the Element Helix ticked all the boxes.

For starters, I didn’t want a 1st focal plane scope since I always dial my elevation holdover, and prefer to have the nice big clear reticle at all magnification settings. Hence the 2nd focal plane reticle of the Helix ticked that box.

Nor did I want an illuminated reticle – I never once used that feature on the Hawke.

Since I dial all my shots, I needed very precise clicks on the turrets and preferably an effective zero-stop system – the Helix fitted that requirement perfectly.

And lastly, the scope had to have matching calibrations to the turrets and the reticle, in my case MRAD calibrations – another box ticked.

With no supplier of Element scopes here in Oz (yet ??), I ordered mine through the Optics Warehouse in the UK. It only took two weeks to arrive and I’ve just had the first session with it today. It’s mounted on a BSA R-10 in .22 cal shooting at around 20 ft lbs. I haven’t fitted the supplied sunshade as yet, but will definitely do so for my next day out with it.

After today’s session I can honestly say that it met all of my expectations. The glass is as clear as I’d ever need, right up to the maximum magnification of 24x. With MRAD reticle and turrets it only took 3 shots to get it zeroed (at 22 metres). The first shot was low and didn’t even hit the paper, so I took a guess and wound it UP 5 mrad. The second shot was 1.5 mrad high and 1 mrad to the right as shown by the reticle so I made the necessary adjustments and the 3rd shot went straight through the bullseye. How easy was that !!!

Another feature I really like is the resolution of the side parallax adjustment. The old Hawke scope travelled through approximately 120° between 10 and 50 metres, leaving a lot of guesswork for the accurate measurement of distance. The Helix parallax knob turns twice that distance (approx 240°) between 10 and 50 metres, making for much greater accuracy. This will be really helpful in Field Target competitions where accurate measurements are very important. Having said that, the Helix does not come with a large side-wheel for parallax adjustment, so that’s something I’ll have to come up with before the next F/T competition in a few weeks time.

In conclusion, I can honestly say that this scope hits the mark perfectly and squeezes a lot of features and good quality into a package with a very budget-friendly price tag.
