22LR PRS Small Caliber Big Challenge - Andy Sterling
After my previous offering of a perspective of jumping in at the deep end of PRS, what about a more gentle introduction?
To be fair whilst the diminutive 22LR may be considered and humble round it's not to be perceived as any less of a challenge than its bigger sibling the centre fire when it comes to match day.
It offers all the nuances of full-bore PRS completion without the expense, both in terms of kit and especially ammo and is a great introduction to the world of PRS shooting.
The usual suspects are in attendance along with a group of youngsters and new shooters of all ages and gender, it's perhaps the most diverse set of

Here at Optics Warehouse, we love to hear about your achievements and we are thrilled to learn OPW customer Mally came third in his 1st 1000 Yard competition in testing conditions with his new Delta Stryker!
Mally commented: "I really like the glass and the range of magnification. The turrets are well designed with large clear numbers with nice positive clicks. The turrets can also be locked so as a stalking scope you won't accidentally move turrets when crawling -

The Richard Utting Blog - March Edition
Today was all about dodging snow showers for long enough to test out the new 300WinMag barrel on my RPR, plus some testing of new ammunition in my 6.5x47, 308 and one of my 223s, plus 17HMR zeroing of the perfectly suited 1.5-9x45 Delta.
I like to run a variety of different-priced scopes on my rifles, so my Ballistics Training Days clients can see them in use and demo them. To that end, I mounted a Delta Javelin FFP 4.5-30 on the WinMag, in the excellent ADM Recon one-piece, quick-release mount. I know from running the Javelin on my lapmag for months a few years ago that it handles this amount of recoil while shooting at a mile and beyond without any complaint or problems at all. I’ll also be using the magnificent new Valdada Mini as well.

PRS From the beginning, by a beginner - By Andy Sterling
Who is this bloke? I’m not your typical PRS shooter, for a start, I don’t reload (but no doubt it will come to that) and I don’t have years of target or tactical shooting under my belt despite being close to 50 years old. No, I’m just an average shooter who runs a vermin control and deer management business alongside my plumbing and heating business. Many of the competitors are seasoned competition shooters and, or professionally involved in the shooting industry.
I first ventured into PRS after finding out just how accurate modern rifles are. A day at Bisley with my trusty 243, 30-06 and 17 hornet all providing 100-yard thumbnail groups. So out to stretch the legs to 200-300-600-1000 yards and what a revelation that was. Hunting rifles, all of them and the 17 to 300 243 to 600 and 30-06 to 1000 yards groups were quite remarkable All using

OPW Team Member Thomas Bristow shares his preparations towards a Hunter Field Target (HFT) competition!
Away from the desks of our lacklustre world of work and study, for most of us, the weekend provides the perfect opportunity for us to embark on our own escapades – wherever they may take us! Frequently, my Sundays are spent rolling around through thickets of woodland or testing the waterproofing capabilities of my trousers in open fields, all in the hunt for the illusive “tin chicken”.
To some, it may seem daft travelling the length and breadth of the UK to take 30 shots at metal faceplates; yet I can only assume that you’ve arrived at this page due to a shared enthusiasm towards field sports, or at a minimum the wider outdoor fraternity – so I hope some of you share the same satisfaction of throwing lead down range as I do.

The Richard Utting Blog - February Edition
At this time of year I’m getting ready for my training days season which starts around April. There’s a lot of brass prep to do. The more I can get done now the less manic the start of the season is. So lots of annealing, trimming, sizing, neck turning has been the order of the day of late.
And of course any new rifles or rebarrels need their load development done. Currently I have quite a lot up the air – the RPRs in Creed, Winmag and Lapmag are all away for new barrels and I won’t have them back for a week or two yet.

OPW Pro Team Member Lloyd Marshall takes to Ashcombe Shooting Ground with great success!
On December 31st 2022, OPW Pro Team Member Lloyd Marshall took to Ashcombe Shooting ground for the last 100 target registered sporting shoot. Read his blog below and see how he got on…
“Driving on the way to Ashcombe from home I was doubting why I was on my way there, the weather was awful, heavy rain and fairly windy. However, I thought to myself that not every competition day is going to be perfect and if the weather is bad for me then it was going to bad for everyone else competing too.
There were 12 stands in total, 10 stands of 4 pairs and 2 stands of 5 pairs, equalling 100 targets.
I missed 7 targets out of 100 finishing on 93 out of 100. Which took "high gun".
